Kansas DAR Scholarships



The Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce educational funding opportunities from both KSDAR and NSDAR.  The Kansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution are fortunate to have several scholarships to offer during the Kline Administration, from 2022-2025.

The following scholarships will be available each year of the Kline Administration:

The Kansas DAR Scholarship

Is awarded to a high school senior – enrolled in an accredited high school – who is eligible or is already a member of DAR.

  1. Chapter sponsorship is recommended.
  2. Four written references are required.
  3. The recipient will need to attend a two or four-year accredited college or university, the fall after receiving the Kansas DAR Scholarship.

The Judd Smith Brooks Scholarship

Is an opportunity for a young man, who is a descendent of a proven DAR line, to receive a one-time scholarship of $1,000. Proof of enrollment in a two or four-year accredited college or university shall be required.

The Elizabeth M. Hill Kessler Scholarship

The recipient shall show acceptable scholastic ability, show financial need, be a citizen of the United States of America and be eligible for membership in DAR.

The Gladys E. Routh Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a deserving boy or girl, preferably ¼ Pottawatomie Indian. Another American Indian heritage may be substituted if there are no applicants from the Pottawatomie tribe.  Attendance at an accredited college or university is required.
