About Us

The Isabella Weldin Chapter was organized on June 14, 1929 at the home of Helen Margaret (Skaer) Etnire in Augusta, Kansas.

Mrs. Etnire was the chapter’s first Regent. The chapter was named in honor of her great-great-grandmother, Isabella Weldin (Weldon).

Isabella Weldin was the wife of James Adams, who served in the 5th Battalion, 4th Company of the Pennsylvania Army, as a Captain, under Colonel Buchanan, assisting to establish American Independence.
