Welcome!

To Our Chapter

This Chapter was organized in 1956, confirmed in 1957, and the first meeting was held March 1, 1957.
The Chapter name selected, Flores del Sol, in Spanish, means flowers of the sun, or Sunflower,
the Kansas state flower. It was organized by working women and others who could not attend
meetings on weekdays. The Chapter meets on the first Saturday of each month, September through
June, at 9:30 a.m., except for our Christmas and Spring luncheons.

Several of our members have distinguished themselves in their service as State and National
officers and committee chairmen. Flores del Sol Daughters come from all parts of Wichita and
nearby communities. They include those who are still employed outside their homes, retired
women, and those who have small children or are in college. Our members include several mothers,
daughters, and even some granddaughter combinations.

Flores del Sol is a Chapter with many diverse activities. We welcome new members and want to
get them involved.
